East Shore Surf Spots

THE EAST SHORE -- With tradewinds blowing 90 percent of the year, it's no wonder this coastline is known as the Windward coast. The east shore has many lush tropical beach settings which are favorite locations for surfing, windsurfing and sailing enthusiasts. Bellows is usually a good beginners surf spot.

Be cautious and make sure to ask lifeguards about conditions during the winter as big surf and its resultant fierce shore break and undertow can often be very, very dangerous. Simply, the new and inexperienced should stay out of the water during big surf.

REMEMBER-Surf heights are forecast heights of the face or front of waves. Expect to encounter rip currents in or near any surf zone.

The Official Surf Guide of Hawaii

Surfing is a thrilling sport, and can be very dangerous.  The ocean is unforgiving and her power can be very deceptive.  Safety is the highest concern.
Aloha Surf Guide is information and guidelines to help get you started.
We recommend all beginners hire an experienced and professional surf instructor, talk to a lifeguard before you surf, and please do not surf alone!
